PREPARE

Grab-n-Go Bag

WHY:

The Grab-n-Go Bag is invaluable to you and your loved ones when you must leave your home NOW! A common use for this Bag is a house fire, which demands immediate action. You literally grab it on your way out of the house.

WHAT:

A Grab-n-Go Bag has items you are not using or enjoying on a daily basis. Unlike preparing for Evacuation, this bag is prepared, left full, and is ready to go on a moment’s notice. This list is not intended to be all-inclusive. Consider your needs, and those of your loved ones and pets. Gather items accordingly.

NOTE: All these items make excellent gifts. They don’t all need to be purchased today. Plan to acquire them throughout the year.

HOW:

  1. Get a backpack, sack, or box

  2. Label it “Grab-n-Go”

  3. Plan a monthly schedule to add to it.

  4. Store this bag by the door you are most likely to exit in the event of a house fire. However, it is useful in all disasters.
